We received the photos from the recent member day organized by Rowan Nijboer. Rowan is successfully building a likable investor community here in the Netherlands. His member days are consistently guaranteed to fill the room.
It was truly an honor for us to be invited to speak to such an enthusiastic audience. Below are a few photos to give you a feel for the atmosphere.

The presentation wasn’t just about value investing, as the slides might suggest. The main idea was to introduce Luc Kroeze’s third and newest book, ‘Niet alles wat blinkt is goud’ (Not All That Glitters Is Gold).
For anyone interested: I’ve been invited by the Flemish Federation of Investors (Vlaamse Federatie van Beleggers) to repeat this presentation, titled “Smart Investing Through Valuation” (Verstandig beleggen door te waarderen). The following dates are scheduled:
- Ghent: Tuesday, February 10, 2026
- Hasselt: Thursday, February 19, 2026
- Turnhout: Wednesday, April 22
- Leuven: Date still to be determined (May 13 or June 10)
(All presentations are in Dutch)
Here’s a quick summary:
It was the late Charlie Munger who made the famous remark, “All intelligent investing is value investing.” He was absolutely right.
He makes it clear that you should never pay more than what something is worth. And to figure out what an asset is worth, you apply some form of valuation technique.
In this presentation, we walk through the various substyles within value investing, providing concrete examples and practical tools that will benefit both novice and advanced investors.
We’ll be focusing heavily on the substyle of quality investing and the DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) valuation method, which Luc Kroeze masterfully explains in his newest book, ‘Niet alles wat blinkt is goud’. Following ‘The Art of Quality Investing’ and ‘Het beleggersbrein’ (The Investor’s Brain), Luc has penned a trilogy that is an absolute must-have for any bookshelf. Luc’s book will be available for purchase at the event. (Good news, there are talks of translating the other 2 books!)
